H.A.R.C. Community Service Awards Banquet

Shahin Samiei (Master of Public Health from University of Memphis, 2011) received a “Play it Forward” award at the HARC Community Banquet. Mr. Samiei was recognized for his community service and environmental activism. He is pictured with Dr. David N. Cox, University Executive Assistant to the President.

Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway spoke to about 300 enthusiastic participants at the August 18th Community Service Awards Banquet at St. Luke’s UMC. The Highland Area Renewal Corporation presented “H.A.R.C. Angel” awards to Penny and 18 other worthy citizens.

Penny is pictured with local artist Tony Gandy, who presented him with a large painting recalling Hardaway’s NBA days, and Dr. Mark Matheny, H.A.R.C.’s Executive Director.
